# Maski documentation

> Privacy-first email aliases and forwarding. Create an address for every service, keep your real inbox private.

Maski gives you a separate email address, an alias, for every service you sign up
for. Mail sent to an alias forwards to your real inbox. Your real address stays
private, and when an alias starts attracting spam you pause or retire it without
touching anything else.

## How it works

1. You create an alias, for example `news@alias4me.in`, and point it at your real
   destination address.
2. A sender emails the alias. Maski receives the message.
3. Maski forwards it to your destination. The sender never sees your real address.
4. You reply, pause, block a sender, or retire the alias whenever you want.
